Next-to-Skin The core principle to the Sitka System is layering. The System begins with base layers and builds out. We
have developed this foundation for Sitka using the best next-to-skin fabrics that exist: Polartec®.
Moisture and high relative humidity next to the skin cause discomfort. Polartec® Power Dry® and
Polartec® Power Stretch® keep the skin dry through three complementary mechanisms.
1) The fabric is highly breathable and does not restrict the movement of oisture vapor.
2) “Touch points” on the fabric inner surface draw off the sweat. Sweat is wicked off the skin to the outside
of the fabric where it spreads apidly for evaporation. Polartec® Power Dry® fabrics move at least
30% more moisture away from the skin than single component fabrics.
Include Polartec’s Odor Resistant Technology to effectively combat body odor through the utlilization of
encapsulated silver, and you have two systems: Scent Prevention and moisture Management.

These remarks came in an unsolicited email
recently from a fellow member:
I just returned yesterday from a 7 day mountain hunt and wore the Sitka gear and it performed extremely well. I had temperatures from 30 degrees with 40 MPH winds to temperatures around 70 degrees and it worked well. The only thing different that I had used was a vest that they had to go along with the 90% series.
Thanks for the info,

Ascent Series
Ascent Pant
Engineered to Climb The Perfect Pant
What is the perfect hunting pant? As with all of our gear, our goal
is to design the best product for its intended use. We refuse to cut
corners. In developing the new Ascent pant, we created a pant that
can withstand over 200 days-a-year abuse from guides like Alaska’s
Lance Kronberger. Abuse resistance balanced with versatility for the
widest range of conditions possible.
A pant should enhance your experience, not take away from it. The
Ascent Pant moves with you, resists wind, weather and abrasion
while remaining quiet enough to stalk in close.
Adopting a guides calculated mentality, the Ascent Pant is
engineered for long technical climbs, scary steep descents and years
of abuse. The quiet, soft, abrasion resistant, weather-shedding,
stretchy fabric allows the Ascent pant to excel in all hunting
situations. From whitetails to stone sheep, this is your go to pant!

Soft Shells Weather Protection • Stretch • Insulation• Breathability Soft Shell Technology has inspired multi-seasonal garments that replace the traditional three layer
system, creating less bulk and offering more versatility. Traditionally, a shell layer is worn over a
insulating layer during downpours, snowstorms, or cold wind. A proven system, but usually reserved
for the most punishing of conditions.
Soft Shell fabric is the combination of a highly breathable woven outer layer that is bonded to a
moisture-wicking lining that provides insulation. This system promises the highest level of air/
moisture exchange unimpeded by coatings, laminations, seals or barriers. Soft-Shell systems pass
more air and vapor in one minute than a waterproof breathable can pass in 24 hours. The outer weave
is tight enough to block wind and treated with a Durable Water Repellant (DWR) finish to repel all
but the worst downpours or snowstorms. Four-way stretch, abrasion and weather resistant, soft shell
fabrics are the ultimate outer wear for hunters.
The 90% Series is our all-mountain version of soft shell. With a low loft lining, the 90% Jacket provides
insulation for reasonably cold days or high output activites.

New for 2008, the Celsius Series builds off the strengths of the 90% Series by adding more loft for
much colder conditions, and body mapping to keep the loft were you need it.
